I Am
Colleen means a young girl
And that is what I am.
I am as fierce as a lion
But as innocent as a lamb.
I am a girl in this big world.
I am a leader
But I can follow the crowd.
I can be quiet
But I am not one to be lost in the background.
As strong as I am
I can still use a hand.
On my worst nights
I still fall asleep strong.
I am a professional at times
But most the time a weirdo.
I don’t like normal.
Standing out is who I am.
I would like to
believe
That I am one of a kind.
That I am unique
And hard to find.
I try my best
I always do.
Even at my worst
When I am feeling a bit blue.
No matter who you are
I will do anything to help.
My big heart
Goes thump thump for everyone
big and small.
I am different and I love it
I wouldn’t change my life for the world.
My name defines me.
I am Colleen
caring, curious, cautious and not common.
I like how you admit you faults, accept them, and still find even more good to out weigh the bad. It's truly a great piece of poetry.
